She is searching. Inside she knows that something is missing and she is not whole. She is empty. Her attempts to fill the void with the things that seem "right" never seem to work. Is it a boyfriend that is missing? Is there something about her appearance that she needs to fix? Does she need to have more fun? Are her parents the reason she feels this way? Perhaps she just needs different friends to hang out with?
We see her chasing many of these things in the video, but the end result always leaves her empty and hurting. No matter what she goes after, she seems to always find pain and disappointment. The only thing that keeps her going is the constant pursuit of "the next thing". Her life has become nothing more than a game of looking for the next quick fix. It does not end. She remains empty.
In Colossians 2:10 there is an answer to this question that all of us have faced at some point. The verse tells us that in Christ we are made complete. Jesus explained it Himself in John 16:33:
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
We have all been seperated from God by sin and as a result that relationship with Him is broken. Something that was meant to be a part of our lives is not there. That piece is missing. However, God provided the way to restore our relationship with Him by sending Jesus to die on the cross. Through Him you can be made whole.
